Vintage Rugs : Vintage rugs by Carpetu2 are produced from older Persian handmade rugs aged at least 40-60 years with a long history.
Each rug is carefully selected and subjected to a unique process of reducing the pile to a minimum and neutralizing the color before to be painted in a new exciting color.
The result is a combination of the old with the new, the traditional rug design combined with a modern retro style.
Vintage rugs can lose some of their original features and become even more unique in their appearance over time in modern new colors and old unique designs.
It has been processed with indelible color.
Bakhtiari Rugs : In the mountains Zagros, west of the city of Isfahan, around the town of Shahr-e-Kurd, live the nomads Bakhtiar. Their rugs are known for the design with various repeating squares in which flowers and animals are depicted. For this reason the design is called "garden"(Khesti). Their rugs are very durable with a dense weave and very good quality Persian wool coming from sheep grazing at a high altitude. The best Bakhtiari rugs with highest knot density are often called Bibibaff.
Classic rugs: Rugs that are woven in urban centres in fixed workshops and looms(as opposed to nomads). Their designs are first done on paper by rug designers. These designs are strictly conducted by the weaver during the manufacturing. Even in these rugs, though there may be slight variations in weaving.
