Dargiazin Rugs : Dargiazin is located in the province of Hamadan. The quality and type of Dargiazin rugs are identical to the Bibikabad rugs with the difference that the designs are more often inspired by nature. The rugs Dargiazin from the era of the Safavid dynasty are among the most popular in the region of Hamadan because the Dargiazin were the best artisans of Persian rugs. The distinctive colours of these rugs are green-blue. To the quality of the rugs, contributes the very good wool quality of the Shahsavan region. They stand out due to the symmetrical weaving and high knot density. In recent years the design of the rugs has become more classic with flowers and medallions in red and blue herbal colours with a light cream, camel or beige background such as in Sarouk Amerike rugs.

Hamadan Rugs : The city of Hamadan is situated in the Northwestern part of Iran, 300 kilometres west of Tehran. Many of the rugs are sold under their own names, such as Nahavand, Tuiserkan, Malayer, Hosseinabad, Burchalow, Enjilas, Lilihan, Khamse and Zanjan. The simplest rugs of the area are sold under the name of Hamadan. Each village has got its own style in weaving rugs with their own designs and colours. In most Hamadan rugs and rugs they use high quality wool and a variety of colours.The colours are herbal and various shades of blue indigo and shades of red dominate the rug.

Nomadic rugs: Rugs woven by nomads. Nomads move continuously and do not stay permanently in one geographic region. They manufacture (weave) handmade rugs on collapsible looms. Due to that fact there may be slight variations in weaving and their rugs are sometimes uneven in shape. Also the weaving is made from memory and it depends on each artisans momentary inspiration. As a result, the designs in some rugs are not even on the entire surface.

Horizontal or vertical shading in the rug pile: The shading is due to folding the rug during transportation. When the rug is laid and stepped-on they will vanish. Examples

Abrash: Due to the different amount of grease in the wool and the added salt during the process of dyeing, the wool has got a varying colour absorbance. This is not very visible before weaving. During the weaving though, lines of the same colour are formed in the rug. This is called Abrash (which in Farsi means little cloud) and it shows that the wool was not manufactured using chemical means and marks the naturalness and authenticity of the rugs. Examples
