Shirvan Rugs : The Shirvan rugs are being woven in Azerbaijan and are famous as the best Caucasian rugs. They have a thin and dense weaving with many small medallions near to each other with geometric motifs in the center of the rug. Stars, rhombi and small animals figures are some of the characteristic motifs of the Shirvan rugs. Main colour of the rugs is either red or blue, whereas the biggest bordure is usually white, in the natural colour of the wool.

Caucasus Rugs : The Caucasian rugs are being woven in the regions on the mountains between the Black and the Caspian Sea. In these regions live many different tribes with different languages, such as Persians, Turkmens, Turks and Armenians. Despite the different tribes in Caucasus, the rugs that they weave have many things in common as far as the weaving, their motifs and their materials are concerned. The difficult accessibility of some regions in Caucasus has influenced the fabricants of handmade rugs so that they still use the traditional motifs without any exterior influences. Main colours of the rugs are red, blue, yellow, green and ecru. Their motifs are geometrical. Stars, squares and cross are some of their main motifs. Sometimes they weave human or animal geometrical figures and flowers in geometrical designs.

Nomadic rugs: Rugs woven by nomads. Nomads move continuously and do not stay permanently in one geographic region. They manufacture (weave) handmade rugs on collapsible looms. Due to that fact there may be slight variations in weaving and their rugs are sometimes uneven in shape. Also the weaving is made from memory and it depends on each artisans momentary inspiration. As a result, the designs in some rugs are not even on the entire surface.

All CarpetU2 carpets are subject to cleaning with high quality antibacterial and moth protection products according to Persian law.

Horizontal or vertical shading in the rug pile: The shading is due to folding the rug during transportation. When the rug is laid and stepped-on they will vanish. Examples

Abrash: Due to the different amount of grease in the wool and the added salt during the process of dyeing, the wool has got a varying colour absorbance. This is not very visible before weaving. During the weaving though, lines of the same colour are formed in the rug. This is called Abrash (which in Farsi means little cloud) and it shows that the wool was not manufactured using chemical means and marks the naturalness and authenticity of the rugs. Examples
